INTERIOR & VIEWS :

My initial goal was to utilise as many re-claimed, vintage, up-cycled and antique materials as possible in the construction of this self-furnished studio. Approximately 80% of its total materials have been salvaged and re-purposed from various sources in and around Cape Town. The blending of all these various components into a harmonious finished product is one that is memorable, soothing, and exciting. This is where your visual senses are captivated. Wherever your eyes roll, you will discover subtly aged textures and hand-created items that enhance the feelings of rustic relaxation. These time-worn nuances now re-shed their light from simpler bygone days and are captured in my cozy environment.

**1...It is furnished with recycled décor – never seen anywhere before, very warm & cozy – unique!!

**2...The floor throughout is laid with a rich red/brown Rhodesian Teak parquet flooring.

**3...T
he bedroom features a double bed fitted with crispy laundered 100% cotton linens, a goose-down
duvet, bed throw, lots of pillows, 2 bedside lights, side tables, fluffy rugs and a his & hers wardrobe with plenty of hanging and packing space. One of the walls are adorned with a collection of antique copper bed-pans.

**4...The open-plan kitchen is fully-equipped with African Dream Red granite worktops, brand-new kitchen cupboards – a little quirky, with all the necessary cups, pots & pans, mod-cons, working space, ironing board, broom. squidgy and stainless steel appliances.

**5...The bathroom is equipped with the latest trend of shower – only a shower panel with easy access into it. The vanity table is an old piece of sleeper wood that has been given a ‘new’ life, repurposed and chained to the wall, making it an amazing piece. The walls are covered with corrugated sheeting giving you that rustic feel.

**6...The diningroom is also open-planned and within easy reach of the kitchen. The glass display
diningroom table (handmade by Yours Truly & hubby) has a unique collection of antique copper coin and paper money memorabilia of times gone by.

**7...The lounge area is furnished with your comfort and convenience in mind. It has a soft brown leather couch to laze on, a wall unit with flat-screen television which is made of old wood planks – another amazing piece. The coffee table is also a ‘talk piece’ as it is made out of old pallet boxes. The complete wall is a collection of old-revamped doors perfectly fitted across the whole of the lounge wall.

**8...The lighting over the coffee and dining room table has an old used centrally suspended ladder, displaying various sized lanterns - making this, a great one-off piece on entering this studio.

**9...In addition to the above, at any time of day from the large windows of your studio, you have a beautiful view of Cape Town's most iconic landmark & 7 Wonders of the World – the famous ‘Table Mountain’ as well as the Lion’s Head & Signal Hill mountain ranges. You can also view the Cable Car ascending and descending Table Mountain.
